Katie’s secret to staying fit? Well, it could be taking a nap.
“Here’s the thing: when I’m feeling unmotivated or stressed, a nap always turns me around. I think that if there were more people following my lead in the world, we’d have more smiling, healthy people.”
But don’t think that Katie has all the time in the world to do whatever she wants. Katie, like the rest of us, is always juggling her responsibilities. She’s been married for close to 30 years and has four kids. “I know it’s not easy to stay focused on diet and fitness as a parent, but it can be done and done well. I tell people again and again that with the right support, staying healthy will make your life easier, not harder.”
Katie began running many years ago to lose that dreaded ‘Freshman 15.’ Later, after joining a gym, she fell in love with group fitness classes. And being the self-aware woman she is, Katie realized that these classes not only helped her stay in shape, but helped her feel connected to others like herself who could too easily find themselves wrapped up in kids’ activities from dusk till dawn.
“Then, when I landed at the Bodysmith. I loved the people, the atmosphere and knew I wanted to be more than a member. I wanted to share my passion for fitness with others.”
Katie loves walking her dog, traveling, golf, reading, spending time with friends and family and feeling strong. Katie’s “inner circle” consists of her husband, Dale…her kids Ryan, Will, Katherine and Maggie…and her puppy, Duffy.
